COVID-19 Statement Updated May 27, 2020

To our loyal customers,

The Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has provided us with a challenge that we were unable to foresee, but it is a challenge that we are determined to face. Everyone’s experience amidst this crisis is unique and we certainly sympathise with those who are now unable to trade entirely. Please allow us a moment to run through how we are overcoming the ever changing limitations for our industry and making practical adjustments for our customers.

As you may already know, ‘Stage One’ of Government regulations restricted the Food & Drink industry to serve only take-away. Moreover, social distancing laws require a 4m² space per person, of which we will continue to adhere to. We are now amidst "Step One" of the tentative easing of restrictions in South Australia. We are easing back into service using dine-in utensils and are whilst minimising shared equipment amongst staff and customers. The best way to stay up to date with changes regarding our operation is via social media @muratticakes on Facebook and Instagram.

As of the 27th of May 2020:

Muratti will continue to remain open and trade under the new laws that have been presented to us during this time. . . .
  • Muratti will continue to remain open and trading under the new laws that have been presented to us during this time.
  • The shop currently contains very limited indoor/outdoor seating. This works on a first come, first serve basis.
  • We respectfully ask that customers limit their sittings to 30-45 minutes so that the joy of dining at Muratti can be shared
  • As per the updated laws, our premises can hold a maximum of 10 people outside (including infants/children and unseated patrons) and under 10 customers indoors
  • As public health is a priority above all else, we will be doing our utmost to constantly monitor the shop’s capacity and continue our increased sanitisation procedures

Our range of products has been fine tuned in order to adapt to our operation being changed as we once knew it. Pastry and gateaux require a craft that takes time and that we pride ourselves in. If there is a particular product that you would like, please order one day ahead to avoid disappointment. This method of ordering also creates more work for our casual staff and reduces the chance of unnecessary waste.

As you have been missing the opportunity to dine-in with us, we have updated our pantry to include the following house-made items:

  • Vegan Mayonnaise
(Used in all our premade sandwiches/rolls)
  • Salad Dressing
(Usually tossed through Muratti side salad)

These are, indeed, uncertain times. As self-isolation and altering restrictions persist, the sense of great service, high quality products and community character fostered by Muratti will become increasingly important to our customers as a reminder of their previously familiar routines. We encourage you to call us directly to place an order and, as always, we will do our very best to meet your needs.

Most importantly, we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for getting us this far. We thank you for you previous and continued business. What we strive to achieve at Muratti would be to no avail without the support of our loyal customer base. The Muratti family goes beyond our staff and suppliers; it includes you as well.

We will continue to take on the weeks of hardship ahead of us because we know you have got our backs.

We have yours too,

Robert & Darek
Directors of Muratti Cakes & Gateaux
